Today’s highlights included an orientation to the Spanish classes at El Sol, a visit to the Casa Museo de Ricardo Palma, an evening tour of Barranco and Chorrillos in the Mirabus, and finally a karaoke celebration of Sam’s birthday. The students had the chance to ask questions in Spanish of the knowledgeable guide about Ricardo Palma. It became clear just how important and symbolic this literary figure is in Peru. The #Mirabus tour included a walk through pedestrian areas in #Barranco. We were sure to dress warm in the cool breeze atop the bus. In the end, everyone let loose and showed their singing and dancing skills as we sang karaoke to the amusement of ourselves and a group of Peruvians in the bar.
