Today the group took a four-hour trip up to Caral, one of the 6 cradles of civilization of the world and the first civilization in the Americas. There, surrounded by rural farming communities are ancient pyramids dating back to around 3000 BC. The weather is hotter and sunnier than Lima at this time of year, and to get there, the students had to traverse sand dunes.

In the evening, we went to Peña del Carajo to experience some more cultural dancing and to practice the moves that the students had been learning the night before in a salsa class offered at El Sol. Our star dancer, Kevin, had the whole audience entertained as he tried to avoid getting lit on fire by one of the performers in a candle dancing battle.
